Easy to install
Fiat 500 key covers are an easy way to refresh your car keys. You can choose from a range of styles and colors to find one that is most appropriate to your personal preferences. The most appealing aspect is that they're very simple to put in, meaning you can put them in place in just 10 minutes. All you need is a screwdriver, and some patience. The first step is to take off the cover. This needs to be removed before the new cover can be installed.
After removing the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver in order to pry out the four major attachment clips on the side that is on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked with red on the picture below. Take note of the yellow tabs that have to be removed.
After removing the battery, replace it with a new # CR2032 3 Volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should be facing the fob's opening and the "-" side should be facing the rubber buttons.
Reattach the mirror's passenger side cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you have completed this, put the fob on the driver's side in your car and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is working properly your car should start to turn on the parking lights, and the doors will automatically lock.

The key fob houses a microchip that communicates with the Body Control Module. When you insert your Fiat key, it presses a button in the ignition switch that is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then be in a position to read the transponder in the key fob to verify that it's genuine.
